Review for Roanoke Park Counseling (formerly Shepherd's Counseling Services), Seattle, WA, USA
I've been either a board member or the treasurer of Shepherd's Counseling Services for a decade now. I continue to support the organization with both my time and money because it provides such an important service to our community: low-cost, specialized treatment for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Shepherd's also advocates for adult survivors by sponsoring community awareness events and educates our community about the profound impact of childhood sexual abuse by sending speakers to public and professional forums. Our service revenue grew 22% in 2012. That percentage is a stark reminder of the need for our services. The news headlines also highlight just how entrenched and common the problem is in our society. i will continue to support Shepherd's in it's goal of turning the light on childhood sexual abuse.
