Review for ACTERRA: Action for a Healthy Planet, Palo Alto, CA, USA
Acterra provides a variety of activities to help motivate environmental awareness and responsibility. We enjoyed a moonlight hike through the Arastradero Preservee to the top of a hill. There we heard an astronomy talk and admired the stars. Acterra clearly deserves a prize. Florence and Rolf Beier

Review for Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, San Mateo, CA, USA
I have been a volunteer with the PCRC for about 15 years and have seen it grow from a valuable service for resolving neighborhood disputes to a much broader community resource. From training kindergarteners to solve conflicts (and thereby their parents) to easing school bullying, preventing gang violence, building strong neighborhoods, and facilitating difficult ciy/county issues PCRC has become an essential element in civic peace.
