Review for Mata Amritanandamayi Center, San Ramon, CA, USA
I met Amma about 20 years ago and since then has been amazed at her creativity and leadership in finding ways to help people all around the world in hundreds of different ways. She has programs for feeding the hungry, empowering women to be independent by learning skills such as sewing clothes, providing really poor women with small pensions which is the only way they get some cash to meet their own small needs, building homes for the homeless, offering micro finance to small communities, envrionmental awareness and programs to plant trees, running orphanages, encouraging educated/professional folks to help people who have needs of all variety with programs in the U.S and around the globe.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing how people who engage with the M.A. Center start making positive changes to their lives and become volunteers with the organization and in their own community.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
being with the children who are in the children's program. It has been a great opportunity to see them learn from the program and the activities and I have learned a great deal from them too.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very committed to what they were engaged in and were very open and kind. All the work that M.A. Center does is done by volunteers. The money spent is multiplied many times by the free effort of the thousands of volunteers, which is unique to M.A. Center
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand the programs to address lot more needs in the world. The M.A. Center was planning to help children on prostitutes in South Asia. They also help farmers who are committing suicide because they are unable to pay loans to banks.
