Review for Sanctuary for Senior Dogs, Cleveland, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Wonderful organization. Just because a dog gets old dosen't mean you throw them away. It does a heart good to see people that care for old dogs and recognize they still have love, affection and companionship to give.

Review for POODLE RESCUE OF HOUSTON, Houston, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

A small little white poodle has lost her owner through death and the family members do not want her she is a nuisance and a burden. She is devastated, where is the kind woman who took care of her, why do these other people kick her and beat her, what did she do wrong except to love her owner.
She now finds herself at PRH. It is strange at first, she is put in with another poodle with a story of abandonment. At least no one is beating her anymore and she is getting clean water and food. The people at PRH are very kind to her and she is not as afraid. People come to volunteer and take her out to play and they actually pet and hug her without a kick or slap.

Her kennel and bedding is kept clean and her roommates are nice to her. When she is taken out to the play yard it is very pretty and clean and she is able to sit in the sun and enjoy the breeze blowing her ears. The smells are marvelous, fresh cut grass and the sound of people laughing in the distance.

One spring day a woman and her husband come in to look at some of the small poodles. They take the little white poodle and take 3 or 4 others out to the play yard and the woman sits on a chair to watch all the dogs play. The little dog knowing she is older than the rest and not very clean or pretty anymore, makes the bravest decision she has ever made, she summons all her courage and runs as fast as she can and jumps on the woman’s lap, she snuggles in and gets as close as she can. The woman laughs out loud and hugs the dirty little dog close to her, she says something to her husband. Miracle of miracles, the little dog is rewarded for her courage. She is taken home that very day to live like the little princess she is. Never to want for anything again.

Thank you PRH for my small, sweet little white poodle, Sasha. Because of this small white poodle that was cared for so well by PRH, I volunteer and have never regretted one second of my time spent there.
