Review for Little Read Wagon, Norman, OK, USA
Little Read Wagon is reaching out to our community in many ways! Recently, Little Read Wagon provided reading glasses to clients of the Homeless Alliance who love to read but cannot afford the prescription lenses they need. Choosing books from Little Read Wagon along with glasses has brought observable happiness to event attendees. Little Read Wagon's newest project, #pjandpages, provides new pajamas along with age appropriate books to its younger clients to encourage bedtime reading and parent bonding. What began as a simple book give away has exploded into a multifaceted outreach promoting literacy for all.
Review for Assistance League Of Norman Inc, Norman, OK, USA
Monroe Elementary called Assistance League Norman because we have a student who came to Operation School Bell already this year but has since been moved to another home and has none of his clothes. He showed up at school on Tuesday October 9th with jeans ripped in multiple places. He was very upset about it and did not want to go to class. He was thrilled when I told him I would go get him another pair of jeans from School Bell! We are most grateful!

To all,
I am a mother to 3 children ages 1 month, 22 months, and 6, and a stepmother to a 12 year old and 15 year old. Each of my school age children received the donations from your program this year and it is so appreciated. I am from Texas and have been in Oklahoma for the past 4 years, 2 of which have been here in Norman. I have never heard or seen of anything quite like Operation School Bell in my life and I think it is truly amazing! My family has had a difficult year financially and your help with school clothes, shoes, and winter jackets has made such a difference. My hopes are that whoever reads this email shares my expression of true gratitude for everyone involve

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to the women who spend countless hours organizing clothing, to the women who take the time to talk to my students, to the women behind the scenes working on fund raising and grant writing. Operation School Bell is a resource like no other_the opportunity it has given so many of my students is unmatched. When my students see me in August, "School Bell" is one of the first questions I get. The smiles these trips put on the faces of my students warms the heart. Thank you ,Assistance League of Norman for making"my students" "OUR students". Monroe Elementary has a very grateful heart for all you do!!
With gratitude,

I joined Assistance League seven years ago as a way to make new friends after moving to Norman. I got involved with Operation School Bell immediately and continue to volunteer with this vitally important outreach. As a retired teacher, I know how important it is to arrive at school ready to learn. Having appropriate school clothing that allows you to" fit in" with your peers is a critical component of school success. Counselors who accompany students to School Bell regularly comment on how grateful the children are for their new clothing and what a boost these items give them in terms of self esteem and school performance. Working School Bell is as rewarding an experience for the volunteer as it is for the student attending. The stories we share after each session run the gamut of emotions...poignant, funny and always heartwarming.
