My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Conservation International Foundation, Arlington, VA, USA
This appears to be a quite effective conservation organization, based on my years of being a donor and my understanding of their projects. However, I object to the overly generous compensation to the CEO $464,551!) and to a lesser extent, its president. It's simply not appropriate for an NGO of this type. Thus, I have both lowered my annual donation and taken off one star from it's overall rating. Still, I consider this an organization worthy of support.

Review for Wildlife Conservation Society, Bronx, NY, USA
This is on balance a highly efficient organization that selects good targets for its campaigns. I would contribute more except for the obscene salary of the CEO. NYC is very expensive, but $775,000 (and change) is highly inappropriate -- some would say "obscene" -- for an organization soliciting lots of money from middle class families like mine!

Review for Human Rights Watch Inc, New York, NY, USA
A very important organization, and relatively high efficiency. However, I would give more if the salary for the CEO did not exceed $400,000. While I don't expect non-profit CEOs to take a "vow of poverty" this is simply inappropriate for an organization of this type.
