This organization cares for the wild horses that have inhabited the area longer than humans, and we humans should respect and coexist with these wonderful animals. Not only does Corolla Wild Horse Fund provide veterinary care and nutrition, they provide outreach and education. Caring for the horses is an ongoing struggle largely due to the humans who encroach on the land of these beautiful creatures, whether it's by being pesky tourists harrassing the horses, or developers who constantly threaten the local ecosystem with yet more sprawl. Tragically one of the beautiful horses was deliberately struck by a maniac on an ATV many years ago. Consequently the poor thing had to crawl away on his front legs, only to be put down. This is an example of the heartbreaking and thankless activity the Corolla Wild Horse fund works to remedy on a regular basis.
