Review for Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala, , India

Rating: 5 stars

I went to Ammachi as a single mother with very little hope over a decade ago. Amma took my children in her arms and showed me that caring for them was the greatest service God could ever give a woman. My life completely changed after that. Instead of feeling like a victim I realized that I was actually blessed. Joy increased inside of me and my children responded favorably to that. They still love going to see Amma and eagerly await her visit to the USA every year. Five years ago I met my current husband who is a very spiritual man and the light of my life. We were engaged to Amma for nine months and then in 2006 she married us. I encourage all people to see Amma, but especially women. She reminds us that we have an important role to play as caretakers and nurturers of each other and this dear earth. Especially during times of crisis and change is is important to come together and support one another.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

all aspects of my life. The I AM meditation technique is something I brought back with me and practice on a daily basis. It is like having a special session with Ammachi each morning. Amma brings peace to my self, my family and my community.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have Amma with us all the time. Yet I know the entire world needs her.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

having a spiritual practice that my entire family can enjoy. Friends from all religions and walks of life can come and experience the deep love that Amma freely shares with all.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

simply beautiful people. When we do our seva, or service, we learn to work harmoniously together for a single cause. We learn we can be in divine presence always, whether we are with Amma, or caring for children or washing dishes, or giving a lecture.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

open a new ashram and feed many thousands of people from around the world. Amma nourishes us on all levels, body, mind, psyche and spirit. We are completely fed by Amma.

Ways to make it better...

we had a large ashram that could easily accommodate all the people.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finding enough people who are willing to support Amma's vision.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
