My Nonprofit Reviews

Steven R. Hamlin
Review for Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala, , India
I saw lines of indigent women in India coming to the Ashram for their monthly charity pension checks. Warms the heart. I love transparency, nobody is hiding anything, everyone is invited to participate, from the ground up all the way to the top. I know the feeling when there is not full honesty in the air. A very familiar feeling that is not present at Amma events or charity activities.I have passed out socks to the homeless on skid row at Christmas time; I have helped raise money by preparing food to sell; so much love and unselfishness in the air, from the volunteers. That spirit cannot go wrong. This is a very specific and personal example; my sense of feeling such thing is quite refined.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my role as a volunteer not a recipient. None of us get paid, and I can tell you, all of us have 1000% percent confidence that the money we raise will be used efficiently for the most worthy causes. This organization has no bureaucracy to drain funds.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
have to think long and hard. You can never please everybody, choices have to be made, but this organization cuts every corner it can, to reduce expenses, and raise more money for its charities.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The heart energy that radiates from everyone involved.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Competent, cheerful, unselfish, heart centered and intelligent.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Open more orphanages around the world, build more houses for the homeless, give widows more pensions, provide more low cost elderly housing, open more training facilities for the under or unemployed or indigent, and more.
Ways to make it better...
I could spend longer with these people.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Meeting the tremendous needs in the world today.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I have been involved here for over ten years and met many people, experienced many things; never once have I seen, heard, felt or experienced any trace of evidence of anything other than complete honesty, transparency, unselfishness and Divine Love.
