Review for Animal Care League, Oak Park, IL, USA
I have been volunteering at ACL for some 7 yrs. I enjoy socializing Cats, volunteering at offsite events and working in the office. 2 of my own cats came from ACL and both are important part of my family. ACL does a great job finding homes for these adoptable pets, is well run by very good staff. Also some great volunteers put in a lot of time there.

Network more with organizations that can help animals that are not adoptable because of behavior issues or major health issues.

Review for Catvando Nfp Corporation, Maywood, IL, USA
I have been working with this organization as a volunteer for 3+ years now. Our primary focus is helping feral cats by getting them spayed or neutered and returned to a colony where they will be fed and sheltered. We also try to identify stray cats and do all we can to either get them back to their owners or find them homes. Some of the cats we try to rehome have been nursed back to health from severe trauma or health issues. Every year we have a few kittens to find homes for also; usually the offspring of cats we trap and neuter.

Review for Partners For Progress NFP, Wauconda, IL, USA
I am a 67 yr old with numerous physical problems, including cerebral palsy. I started about a year ago and have been delighted to ride again after some 40 yrs. The riding has improved my muscle tone , posture, and other physical aspects. I was so happy to find a place that accepted adults. The staff and volunteers there are great; all are friendly and helpful. I look forward to my ride every week. I have done a little bit of volunteering also and enjoyed working with staff and volunteers there.

Review for Catvando Nfp Corporation, Maywood, IL, USA
I have worked with Catvando for almost 3 years and think it is a very effective way of helping cats. We "trap, neuter and return" hundreds of outdoor cats, preventing even more hundreds of stray and feral cats. We also rescue cats and kittens that need medical attention, and help the adoptable ones find homes.
