Review for Red Paw Emergency Relief Team, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I first learned about Red Paw Emergency Relief Team when one of their 'clients' was a patient at our veterinary clinic. She had been caught in a two alarm fire with her mother and brother dog three weeks prior and the smoke inhalation brought on a severe case of pneumonia. Her mother was successfully treated with antibiotics, but D needed intensive care - treatments every two hours, multiple medications, fluids, nebulizing, etc. She would never have survived if it weren't for Red Paw. Her bill was approaching FOUR times the rescues original budget, but they refused to give up on this dog....I agreed to foster her, and several months later she became my dog! Everyone at work was so excited they would be able to see her progress. She is an amazing dog - kind to all the animals (and people!) she meets and has been an emergency blood donor dog twice. I have been involved as a volunteer for many organizations over the past 20 years, and I find working with Red Paw to be one of the most rewarding so far!
