As a high school freshman, I joined the FFA. Little did I know the impact it would have on me personally and professionally. I developed a strong work ethic, learned compassion, strengthened communications skills, and made life-long friends. Today, as a direct result of my involvement in the FFA, I am a tenured professor of agricultural communications, having earned three agricultural degress at a major land-grant institution. In addition, my son is a chapter FFA officer this year and is developing those same skills I learned 30 years ago. FFA is by far the best youth organization in the world.
