My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Kids Without Cancer, Detroit, MI, USA
My son was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 2 1/2 years old. Less than a year later, Kids Without Cancer (formerly Leukemia, Research, Life) was founded. Our goal has always been to find a cure for all childhood cancers through research at Children's Hospital of MI. As a parent, you feel totally helpless when your child is so ill. Raising awareness by fund raising gives a parent a little control back. Since our inception, we have raised over $3.6 million dollars to fund research projects. Sadly, we lost our precious son shortly before his 8th birthday. Not a day goes by that we don't miss him terribly, but our family has found incredible strength from our friends at KWC who share our goal of finding a cure for children's cancer. We continue to raise money in memory of the children we have lost, as well as in honor of other children who are still fighting this disease. I am proud to be a small part of this incredible group of people.
