My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Root Division, San Francisco, CA, USA
I've worked a lot with nonprofits and community organizations and communal organizations, so I'm always drawn to them and you get to be a part of something. Plus I just graduated from grad school so I was kind of looking for a community, and Root Division is a good transition. Also, if you have your own studio sometimes you're a little isolated--here there are always people milling around, so there's the opportunity for a lot of interaction. *This review was collected during a site visit to Root Division's 3 Minute Film Festival and entered by GreatNonprofits staff on behalf of the reviewer

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I've taught individual and group classes and people seem to appreciate that it's accessible and nearby. And as for the effect on myself, this studio is just a great place to be. And it's cheap. And you get to learn about the shows and how they're put together, so it's a kind of all-encompassing experience.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
having a studio and a place that doesn't break the bank.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
really warm, dedicated, know what they're doing
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
improve the space, especially the lighting (it would definitely be nice to have more natural light) and the safety--sometimes it's a little intimidating leaving here late at night.
Ways to make it better...
mostly just the same issues as before--natural light and safety.
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
