Review for Keren Simchas Chosson V'Kallah, Brooklyn, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Its very rare that you come across an organization, that almost every single dollar goes to the actual cause with no overhead. I take no salary , my wife schtichya takes no salary ( we have one hired person and that's only cause we have no choice ) and we have to raise thousands and thousands and thousands for chasanim and kallos from all over. Honestly it isn't easy , but i don't regret a moment of my wife's involvement and am extremely proud of her. This truthfully is a labor of love , cause no one in his right mind would put up with the pressure , nerves, heart ache and sometimes plain rudeness and insensitivity as well.Together with that there are some stories that can break your heart as well. My wife doesn't only just arrange for the funds to be raised . She meets with the chassn and kallah (and or their parents), guides them through every step, and becomes their weeding planner , guide and all round source of information. Her cell phone doesn't stop ringing. In my house, I am usually waiting up till twelve thirty or one am , so we can finally have some time to talk . yep she is that busy during wedding season. That said she does find time to balance being a loving mother and wife with all that as well. sounds easy huh? As for my self , a few times , I go around and raise funds , usually during yom tov timers such as before the high holidays and Purim. From time to time , i attend a board meeting as well. However honestly most of my spare time is involved with raising my children.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the faces of widows and orphans smiling at their wedding days.simple as that.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

expand it ,a nd take the pressure off my wife.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

personalized care (if that's the right word to use) your a friend , not just a nebech case.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

people who did it cause they believe and tried to help in the best way possible in , otherwise they wouldn't be there.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a hall , subsidized cheaper weddings and a proper fund for widows and orphans.

Ways to make it better...

there were two women like my wife, cause then it would twice as amazing.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

A shrinking economy and lack of a hall.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
