Review for Amma Foundation Inc, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am writing in this space to include all the work that Amma has done not just here, but throughout the world. Her organization is a true non-profit one, as no one is paid. It is run by volunteers. But that is not as important as the spiritual good Amma does. I am not a Hindu; yet, I am impressed by Amma not for the darshan, embrace, that she gives to countless numbers of people, but by the incredible charity work that her organization has offered throughout the world, particularly in India. Nevertheless, I return to the darshan, the embrace or the hug. It is the archtype of the mother's embrace of the child. It is a ritual enactment of that most secure and most loving moment in the beginning of the life of a child. That reenactment re-invigorates the soul of the receiver, giving a new hope and start to life. It may seem a small thing, but in a world like ours, it is something essential. Countless thousands have appreciated this darshan, and, even if we were to discount all the charity work throughout the world, it would be enjoy to make Amma's organization the best non-profit one.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my spiritual life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make it richer.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

its total givingness to others.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world.

Ways to make it better...

I could spend more time with Amma personally.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the word out.

One thing I'd also say is that...

perhaps there is a saint among us.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
