Review for Insight Memory Care Center, Fairfax, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Over the past 17 years, I have been affiliated with the Alzheimers Family Day Center (AFDC) as a sole caregiver for my aging mother who suffered from Alzheimers and then as a volunteer. While my mther was a participant, she received state-of-the-art care from an outstanding staff thoroughly trained in the field of dementia. She enjoyed participating in many activities that the Center offered. As the diease progressed and I could no longer care for my mother at home, I had to place her in a nursing home. The AFDC staff assisted me in researching and visiting nursing homes in the area which enabled me to make sure that my mother would receive outstanding care. During my mother's stay at AFDC, the staff also gave me great support in my caregiving duties. I have recommended the Center to friends who have aging parents or relatives who are suffering from this disease.

I have been affiliated with the Center for 16 years. First as a sole caregiver for my mother; and now as a volunteer. Without the services of the Center, I would have had to place my mother in a nursing home immediately. She participated in many activities and received excellent care during her tenure there. The staff was outstanding. In addition to working with my mother, they provided counseling and guidance for me. As the disease progressed and I could no longer care for her, they also assisted me in placing my mother in a nursing home. I could not have done this without their help. I highly recommend the Alzheimers Family Day Center to caregivers, families, and anyone who suffers from some form of dementia. I have also recommended the Center to friends who have aging parents suffering from dementia.
