Review for Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala, , India
I have participated in Mother's Kitchen where as a group we prepare and serve lunch to whomever arrives in need of a meal. In San Francisco there are many homeless individuals and many overall who are in need of a warm meal cooked with love. The Mother's Kitchen volunteers provide this service and it is a real positive experience to see so many individuals walk through the line each week and receive a meal. It is my understanding that Mata Amritanandamayi Math does charity work all over India in a diverse array of categories. The website is entitled, "Embracing the World", and whether it is in India or in communities in the West Amma has inspired an enormous amount of people to do seva by her constant example of compassion and love to all.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
An opportunity to do seva and feel the benefit of this golden chance to serve others.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
consult other people who have been involved longer and get feedback on there experiences. I would also start to volunteer more to compare my experience with theirs and then give feedback based on more experience.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing first hand how community members can come together and serve those in need in a selfless manner.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
friendly, enthusiastic, and dedicated.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide a wide array of services to individuals in need throughout India and the world. Amma's charity organization already has facilities and programs in place so investing charity dollars in them would be a wise move.
Ways to make it better...
I could have stayed longer. I can't at this time think of anything negative that I could include as feedback.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
ensuring individuals have the time and money to be able to volunteer. But this is true for much of the non-profit world today.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Amma and her charitable organizations are one the most impressive entities I have ever witnessed. We are blessed to have such a pure example of selfless love as Amma. Thank you Amma and thank you for including her organization in this contest.
