Review for Palmetto Medical Initiative, Charleston, SC, USA
I have worked with many non-profits and medical mission organizations, for 15 years in as many countries: Palmetto Medical Initiative does it RIGHT. They have successfully built high-quality, self-sustaining, local-run medical clinics, even a labor and delivery ward, in Uganda. They are now starting to build 5 similar clinics in Nicaragua, then expanding to other countries as resources permit. They are host 8 medical teams each year to provide high-level specialty medical and surgical care, and support and train the local physicians. To go on one of their trips, is a certain life-changing experience, challenging us all to lead a life of real significance.
