Review for Concho Valley Home for Girls, Inc., San Angelo, TX, USA
I moved into the Concho Valley Home For Girls when I was ten and stayed for six years. I remained at the girls home for six years. During this time, I learned life skills that are essential to daily living: cooking, cleaning, laundry, budget, etc. They are also responsible for teaching me how to mediate, dream, believe in myself, relationships skills, to be independent, values, and a lot of the things that make me who I am today. I was fortunate enough to have a mother that loved me but due to circumstances was not able to properly meet all of my needs but with the girls home help I was able to grow up in a nurturing environment as they encouraged and supported me maintaining a healthy relationship with my mother and other relatives. To this day, I maintain contact with the girls home, houseparent, and girls that also lived there.
