Review for CommunityGrows, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I got involved with the Koshland Garden and they try to keep up, cleaning up. Right now they;re trying to do a peace wall and open up the park. I help in the garden, tidy up and do the maintenance, and I like to get involved. They try so many different activities and different things. Barbara [of HVNPG] is a great person, doing whatever she can for the community. *This review collected during the 7th Annual Western Addition National Night Out and entered by GreatNonprofits staff on behalf of the reviewer

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

getting all the children together, keeping them out of mischief. Also they get the community together, especially the parents. Hopefully this will cut down crime. With the community working together, it helps society.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I don't even want to try. I think they do a great job. I wouldn't know how to start.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people here I've had contact with. They;re all really wonderful and friendly.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

warm-hearted, accomodating

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

really try to use it to change and update one of the nearby playgrounds. And work on safety and clean up, especially with regard to the drug problems in the area.

Ways to make it better...

there were more community and activity events to help people get to know their neighbors better. Because people are so busy, this might be the only way for them to connect with one another.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

try to get thing moving the way they want to, and getting enough funding. Just like any other organization.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008
