Review for Bhumi, Chennai, , India
I got associated with Bhumi when I registered to teach English to children at orphanages (for their MAD program, which was started by my colleague). Bhumi is involved in teaching the underprivileged children, working for the environment, and community development programs. I'm happy to see that every volunteer is fully committed to whatever they do. The teaching program with MAD is systematically planned with orientations, syllabus training and shadow sessions for the teaching volunteers. The children get fun learning materials to work with, which the teaching volunteers get/ make for them based on the syllabus. I appreciate the regular feedback sessions that Bhumi has for its programs, so it can make itself better going forward. Bhumi organizes events like 'Bring smiles,' 'Joy to the world,' and 'siragugal' for the underprivileged children.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
all the games organized at the syllabus training for the teachers, which could be taken to class!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
totally enthusiastic, who can take forward ideas and initiatives with minimal guidance.
Ways to make it better...
I had received my own batch of students for teaching. I've had to wait to be allotted a batch of students for a long time, and then had a shadow session alone so far.
