Review for Mojave Desert Animal Rescue Inc., Apple Valley, CA, USA
I have made three trips so far from Los Angeles to Mojave to help Annie. Although I have been involved in rescue for ten years I had never done what Annie does. She hits the ground running and doesn't stop, not only helping the pets, but their humans as well. As she explained it "there were too many relinquishments at the shelter, I had to find a way to help...". And help she does, pet food, shots, spay/neuter, collars, leashes, flea meds, de-worming meds and that is just for the pets in the program. For the low income and homeless guardians she helps educated them on the health and well being of their pet, transports them to the vet, provides, clothing, blankets, tents, sleeping bags, food and most of all the knowledge that someone cares. She knows almost everyone by name and their animals names. If that wasn't enough each animal in her program is micro-chipped, if the guardian is hospitalized or is unable to take care of their animal she will foster it - KEEPING THE ANIMAL OUT OF THE SHELTER and saving the county hundreds of dollars. She is a valuable member of her community, without her the low income and homeless participants would have zero support for their animals. She is truly a life-saver.
