Review for Interfaith Food Pantry Inc, Morris Plains, NJ, USA
My wife and I have been involved with the Interfaith Food Pantry since the late 1990's , when it was a one -employee and handull of volunteers operation. Since that time the number of clients served and food distributed has increased ten-fold. What started as four shelves in the basement of a local church is now a 14,000 square foot warehouse/distribution/nutrition education/administrative building located in Morris County's Central Park Campus with a smaller distrubtion center in downtown Morristown. The new building, funded by a $2.6 million capital campaign (all but $183,000 was private funds) allows the Pantry to serve over 2,000 client families and distribute over seven tons of food per week. The staff now includes seven full time and five part time employees and is assisted by over 250 "staff" volunteers whose weekly commitment to the work of the Pantry is the equivalent of nine full time employees. The Pantry now palys a key role in the maintenance of Morris County's safety net. Russ Hall
