Review for Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala, , India

Rating: 5 stars

Hi, Thank you for this great opportunity to write in. I have seen so many hands on activities provided by M.A. Math over the years. The real concerns of the various groups assisted are addressed. An example would be the Farmer's Fund for the families left by the suicide epidemic in South India. M.A. Math provided sewing machines and well monitored scholarships to the children. This approach offers long term solutions to these people in need. Money is not offered in a one time way as most of the time organizations ask for donations, the money never reaches those it is intended for. Solutions for the Tsunami Relief were the same. M.A. Math provided immediate assistance with food and clothing and shelter and bathrooms for those affected. Long term housing was then focused on and the community rebuilt. M.A. Math is the only organization I donate most money to. I believe and respect in the choices and way they carry out the various missions. I am humbled and constantly in awe. I hope this award is given to them for sure. Thank you, Anthony Stropoli

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working on fund raisers for those in need...specifically the Farmer's Relief Fund.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find ways to have more people know about it so that more money could be raised and more could be done in effective ways throughout the world.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the team work and efforts of all the volunteers. They are extremely hard working.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

great powers of example of service!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do many great and wonderful things to really help in concrete ways those who are seriously in need. Support peace in our world and community.

Ways to make it better...

I could only have spent more time and didn't have the needs of every day life.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

awareness and skepticism based on past experiences people have with humanitarian based organizations. Usually once they come they realize the intention is pure.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I only hope I can offer some small effort in helping this great organization to prosper!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & Assist in fund raising and Program coordination for Amma's Visits.
