BORDC has provided consistent and invaluable support to the Coalition for a Safe Berkeley in Berkeley, California. In large part due to their encouragement, mentorship, and deep understanding of civil rights policy issues, we have won substantial changes in local police policies. The support from BORDC includes both content and process; their insight into the role local government can play in challenging federal repressive practices has provided a breakthrough for our policy work. Their counseling on network and coalition building has helped us create a stronger and more effective organizing effort.
