Review for Spring Creek Horse Rescue, Durango, CO, USA
Spring Creek Horse Rescue is a Godsend for horses. I have volunteered two seasons with this rescue. I have stopped by many times un-announced at all different times of the day/eve, never to find the owner, Diane, in her house! She is ALWAYS outside with the horses! The place is tidy, the facility is rented so most of the fences were put in by her and her volunteers. The horses always have fresh water and stalls are picked. It is clean. Horses look great, fly masks on, horses groomed, at first glance, you wouldn't know it was a rescue. But not to be fooled, it is a ton of work. Besides the grooming, feeding, watering, rotating stalls, medicines, haltering etc, there is the business side that also needs work. That happens After the horses are cared for - at night. Seems like a never ending job and she does it daily! Volunteers are not always available. Diane gets it done with or without them. Horses get adopted but not just to anyone. Potential folks interested in adoption are screened. She doesn't want the horses going back into a bad situation. She is picky as any rescue should be. She does it right. Thank God for people like her.
