Review for Brooklyn Animal Resources Coalition Inc, Brooklyn, NY, USA
Barc is an animal shelter with more heart than most! Animals that are sick, crippled, feral... they take them, no questions asked. If no home is found for them, cats and dogs are pretty much adopted by the shelter for the long-term. Some I know were in the shelter two years or more before finding the right home; others are still there, waiting of course for a permanent home, but being cared for and loved every day by the shelter's outstanding employees and volunteers - Rob, Deb, Alex, Janey, Dave and the rest. Woody, for one, a little Yorkie with more heart than sense (thank god for pee pads!); Rain, an elderly poodle who can't use her back legs and likes to curl up in her very own whale-shaped bed; Naughty, an appropriately named momma cat who came in with her adorable kitten, Nice. The animals here do have a guardian angel: Bernadette Peters, whose outstanding support of the shelter goes way back. But they need more to keep the shelter running, replace the old roof, and care for each cat and dog until the right home can be found.
