Review for In-Sync Exotics, Inc., Wylie, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I visited InSync after hearing there was an exotic cat rescue only a few miles from my home. I've done (pet) cat rescue in the past, and so I tend to be highly critical of conditions that animals are kept in. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The animals were healthy, happy, calm, well-adjusted and CLEARLY adored. The caregivers are completely devoted to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of their charges and it shows, not only in the appearance of the animals, but also their behaviour. Several times I'd walk past animals (a lion, a tiger and a cougar, in that order) and upon seeing me, the animal would roll over onto his/her back, which is a sign of EXTREME trust in a cat, never mind an exotic one! The enclosures are clean, sturdy, well-maintained and well-stocked, the playgrounds have appropriate toys, gorgeous pools, well-maintained grass and wood for the cats to scratch and stretch. Even more telling are a lot of their before and after stories; some of the animals were neglected, mistreated, malnourished or even tortured, and those same animals are now healthy, happy, calm and confident. Being in a place where people look after your every need will do that to even the most cynical apex predator!

Going on a self-guided tour and taking friends to do the same.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Increase their operating budget and get them more land so they could help more animals.
