Way back "in the day" I chose Children Inc after reviewing all similar organizations. I sponsored a child in a village in Haiti who, along with other kids in that settlement, genuinely benefitted from the Children Inc program. When he reached the maximum age for the program he told me that he wanted to be a doctor. With extensive help from this organization we set up a program allowing him to enroll in Santo Domingo, receive necessary funds monthly through a collegue of Children Inc there, be interviewed by a diplomatic official at the US Embassy, and so forth. It took quite some time to achieve his goal, and I even got assistance from a Peace Corps worker who knew his family in the settlement. Throughout this process the folks at Children Inc were wonderfully helpful in communications, funds transfers, academic verification. A truly splendid organization. I went far beyond their usual processes and found them to be completely reliable, trustworthy, flexible and totally focused on children.
