Review for In-Sync Exotics, Inc., Wylie, TX, USA
In-Sync Exotics is a truly amazing place. Vicky Keahey took in an abandoned cougar.....then, another, then, a tiny tiger. This led to the vision of saving more big cats from abuse, neglect and certain death. There are not a lot of people out there who "think" about doing something like this and then, actually follow through; Vicky followed through. The organization relies on donations and volunteers in order to keep it going and the cats cared for. I have volunteered there for about six months and in getting to know other volunteers, we all agree that this place is not only a sanctuary for rescued big cats, it is a sanctuary for those who spend time there. I know my volunteering makes somewhat of a difference......but not near the difference In-Sync has made in my life. I have met truly generous people whose passion is to provide the best possible environment for these beautiful creatures. I have looked into the eyes of cats who have known pain and torment, but are now in a forever home where it is "all about them." In-Sync Exotics IS my happy place!!

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
It has taught me a lot more about the conservation of the world's wildlife. I have learned a great deal about the cats - their diets, ailments, personalities, etc. I have met some interesting people with a passion for caring for these exotic cats - we are all there for the same reason: to make life better for these rescued cats.
