Review for Pearl S. Buck International, Inc., Perkasie, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was very privileged to be in the right place at the right time, the beginning of the century and living near her home and the office of PSBI. I was enthralled with Pearl's biography and being a docent in her home. I was always ready to volunteer and was asked to do many things with and for the organization. I went on several trips with PSBI and met many people in the USA and eastern Asia that were part of PSBI and learned so much about Pearl and the world.

The staff of PSBI are terrific people. Being asked to be a member of the board was one of the greatest thrills of my life. From that experience, I saw how the staff works so hard to keep Pearl's name in front of the public, make sure her home in Dublin was always in good repair and a fabulous tour of Pearl and what she stood for and caring for impoverished children.

As I traveled to China, South Korea and Vietnam with tours run by PSBI and by accompanying staff and board members, I had the great experience of meeting many of the wonderful Asian staff and many of the children that PSBI cares for. I have seen first hand the terrific mission PSBI has done for the impoverished children in South Korea, China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand.

I have had the privilege of being involved with PSBI for 13 years of which the past nine have been in the capacity of a board member. I have seen this organization grow and excel in the transparancy of their many projects and goals. I have had the thrill of traveling with the CEO on several trips to Asia. I have seen the work of PSBI firsthand, in schools, in orphanages, in memorial halls that were dedicated to Pearl S.Buck. I have witnessed the how successful the sponsorship program is in meeting several very successful adults who say they owe their life and success to having been a PSBI sponsored child. I am glad that the good works of PSBI are being recognized.
