Working as a summer intern for OAR was an inspiring experience that demonstrated to me how much good a dedicated organization can do at both the small community and large national level. By supporting applied research OAR ensures that individuals, and the families of those, with autism are given access to current studies that are scientifically backed and can support them in their daily lives. OAR's Operation Autism initiative, which provides information to military families on finding treatment services and transitioning, is also an important resource that serves a great need to the autism community.
