Review for The YP Foundation, New Delhi, , India

Rating: 5 stars

I, like most adolescents in my peer group, had only a very vague idea of many social problems and knew only what the limited programs in school and the newspaper taught me. YP changed all that. Though I was in the branch concerned with the promotion of the performing arts I also interacted with other branches and learnt about the fields they were working with. My branch was holding workshops related to the field of music awareness in schools throughout NCR. This required tremendous research, organization and finally hours of facilitation practice and training. We extended these workshops to schools in less privileged areas, giving me a chance to get a unique perspective on the limited nature of the extracurricular activities available to them. Beyond that I was fascinated by the work done by the other parts of the organization and was impressed by the managements ability to hold the many different projects together and unite them in a common cause. Over and above all that joining the YP was alot of fun. Pulling of meetings and workshops successfully gave me a huge sense of achievement and accomplishment. Working with many different kinds of people helped me understand different perspectives and backgrounds better and I believe, made me more tolerant and accepting. I am proud to call myself a YP alumni.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the feedback given to us by the children we visited. I was surprised and motivated to see the difference we made to their interest in the field.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The Workshops.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Were dedicated, motivated, intelligent individuals who were passionate about their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand and grow into a global organization. I believe that it could make a difference to the world.

Ways to make it better...

I'd been able to work longer with it.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The dearth of resources. This organization is set apart from others in that it deals with a wide range of issues and as such, requires additional funds to maintain this diversity.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
