Review for URJ Kutz Camp, Warwick, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

One of the most educational, spiritual, and life-changing experiences. I made life-long friendships with the girls in my cabin and because of the small amount of people at camp, I became friends with everyone. I took a leadership training "course" because I am a regional board member (my position is Secretary)for the Southern region of the North American Federation of Temple Youth. I went to the camp as a newly-elected board member who wasn't super confident in herself and left the camp with fresh ideas, feeling more confident than ever and ready to be a leader for my region. I've used almost everything that I've learned at Kutz camp in my daily life, with my region and at my temple. I cannot describe how much I love this camp and I REALLY want to go back next summer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my every day life. I am constantly thinking about my camp experience and how I can incorporate what I've learned there in my home, at school, with my region, etc. I also feel more comfortable with my faith, like how I view it and how I practice it.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

create more scholarships.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

To be honest, my NFTY experience could not have been better. I've made many friends, had life-changing experiences, learned from my peers and became a leader.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

mostly a couple years older than me, so it was easy to relate with them and become friends with them. I had the past President of NFTY as my RA which was extremely helpful with getting advice about being a leader.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the lives of every Jewish teen in America.

Ways to make it better...

..there's honestly nothing that I would change, except maybe the food.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial issues and membership (more specifically, in my region).

One thing I'd also say is that...

Kutz is the best experience I have ever had.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Board Member & For about a month, I took the Regional Board Leadership track, which prepares you to lead your region (mine being the Southern region) and develop leadership skills.
