Review for Humane Society for Seattle-King Co, Bellevue, WA, USA
I have been volunteering at the Seattle Humane Society for 3 years now. I've also donated to their fundraisers and items in need for the animals. The staff are wonderful to work with, many of the volunteers have been working there for years, and the animals are well taken care of. The public should know that the animals get the necessary care to help them be successful in their new homes. They really do care about the animals they have in their care.

Review for Big Cat Rescue, Corp., Odessa, FL, USA
They do a wonderful job helping to stop the abuse of big cats being exploited for money. Visit their site and watch their daily videos of all cats. You will see all the wonderful things they do for these animals!

We adopted our baby boy from SPOT. We found him online, contacted the organization and received confirmation he was still available. Our boy was part of a rescue from an over populated farm. He was bottle fed by his rescuers. They were very thorough with the questions asked to determine if we were a good fit. We got to talk first hand to the couple that took him and his litter mates in and bottle fed them. I sent an updated photo of him and was most please to receive baby pictures of him back. Great people to work with, a wonderful experience, and the most loving cat to call our own. Thank you for all you do to help our furry friends in need.

(thanks to a flexible work schedule) I have been volunteering every Thursday (and various events) for over two years now. The staff is wonderful to work with, all up beat and helpful and just a joy to be around. The concern and care they have for the animals and visitors to their site is very obvious. It makes me feel good to know I'm working with an upstanding organization that I can be proud to broadcast my participation with all my friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances. Thursdays have become my favorite day of the week! (I am also a donor, and a client served before being a volunteer with happy results in both categories)

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Watching cats that need time adjusting, are older, have medical issues, etc. get adopted.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Provide a bigger facility. However, that takes money...that is used to treat, care for the animals.
Would you volunteer for this group again?

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
Nothing. It has been fabulous from day one.
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Definately have made new freinds. I've learned so much about shelters and the good they do for animals. People shouldn't be afraid to adopt from them OR to surrender their animals if they are is a situation were they can not care for them any longer. Also learned how to make cat beds, enjoy sewing those when time permits.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
That EVERYONE can do a little something to make the world a better place for someone (even if that someone is an animal).
