My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for The Good People Fund, Millburn, NJ, USA
As the founder and director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Israel, it's always important to me that the people and funds and foundations that we turn to for support really understand and appreciate what it is that we are striving to do, and care about whether we're really accomplishing what we set out to achieve. I met Naomi years ago and immediately sensed that she was someone who really got it -- that she knew the questions to ask and that she mixed her compassion with a healthy inquiry so that she could make reliable and insightful assessments of the organizations and people seeking the Fund's support. These special qualities are critical to her ability to be a trustworthy "shaliach" or emissary, for all the generous people who are entrusting her to make wise choices for them about the best way to help, support, reach out and compassionately but intelligently really make a difference. Always available, always there with something supportive to say, Naomi is incredibly dedicated to her mission of finding the people and organizations that will know how to maximize the benefits of the gifts that she is empowered to pass along. One just needs to read the list of amazing causes to which the Good People Fund contributes, to see how broad and eclectic her choices are. As the director of an organization that can exist and change lives solely because of the largesse of caring people, it's not easy to be in the role of always asking for money. Naomi tries to make it easier by always being respectful and understanding, even as she's asking all the important questions. It's a privilege for me to call Naomi my friend.
