My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Institute on Aging, San Francisco, CA, USA
The adult day care center at the IOA was one of several adult day care centers that I visited on a service trip, and it was one of the centers that impressed me the most. The rooms were spacious, tidy and welcoming. It seemed like a place that one could consider a home away from home - in effect, what a day care center is supposed to be. I visited the center in the middle of a mock auction activity, which involved members of the staff auctioning off items (like scarves, hats,...) for about a $1 each to the elderly clients. The staff did a good job of engaging the elderly and were very cheerful and agreeable even when faced with those that were unintentionally/unknowingly disagreeable(for example, those afflicted with Alzheimer's/dementia). In summary, the IOA's day care center is an impressive center with impressive facilities.
