My Nonprofit Reviews

Ecco La
Review for National Humanities Center, Rtp, NC, USA
If you are conservative or libertarian DO NOT invest in this organization. Their execution quality is good, but their content is largely NOT aligned with your values. Do your homework and read the lesson plans, resource texts, seminars, etc. for a wide range of NHC programs (Also see their program on a separate website called America in Class for its K-12 teacher resources and lessons.) If you are thorough you will see the cultural marxist approaches (eg class-based analytical questions, etc.),the careful shaping of student opinion toward Leftist analytical positions and historical assessments. Check out, for example, the lesson on American Revolution as Civil War (available on the website of the NHC program, America in Class) which selectively portrays the "Patriots" as violent mobs of bigots and actively works to shape student perception of the American Founding in particular ways. Surf around and you will find much similar content on both websites of this organization. The NHC is NOT the organization it once was 30 years ago when Bill Bennett ran it. If you wish to look at educational nonprofits better aligned with conservative/libertarian values visit the Jack Miller Center website and affiliated programs, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Young America's Foundation, and many other better suited programs for your investment. Ask them to refer you to additional programs to support that share your values.
