Review for New Kingdom Trailriders, Moline, IL, USA
I have only been a volunteer in the office during last winter after retiring in the fall. I have really enjoyed learning how NKT helps so many families in the community. In June I did my first evening event. I enjoyed all the smiles on the faces of the riders and the looks of pride on the faces of their families watching them have a good time. NKT has an awesome set up, with a beautiful arena and so many friendly people who are there because they want to be. I am proud to be part of such a hard working group of caring people who want to make another persons life better. I have heard so many stories of the improvement our riders make and I am excited to see it first hand. I watched their faces and lit up and saw how happy it made the riders to have their family there watching them do something they could be proud of. I can't wait to see more!

I am fairly new but the faces of children having fun and forgetting all their problems for an hour is wonderful to witness. The hard work and long hours of the people involved in this organization is amazing.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
I think more office help is needed. Too much is put on too few people to accomplish everything that is needed.
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes, I have met many new friends and one of my hopes was to learn more about horses. I learn more each time I have volunteered. I have learned more about myself, that I get so much joy out of doing things that help others.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
It makes you feel purposeful to give back to others. I love horses,helping others and nature and enjoy the time outside with the animals. It makes for peace in a hetic life. Thank you NKT!
