Review for Center For Faithjustice, Lawrenceville, NJ, USA
I have both volunteered with this organization and been served by it. In my experiences volunteering with this organization, I have always been wow-ed by the way that the CFJ values and cares for its volunteers. Some of the most profound experiences I have had have been while volunteering with the CFJ. Moreover, I am so happy to help them since I know how valuable the work is that they do. Over the summer, they host 1-week long camps introducing high- and middle-schoolers to social justice. As a former participant in this program 'Justiceworx', I can say that this experience started my love of social justice and my passion for the connections between faith and justice. Whenever I can attend their weekly Wednesday night Soup and Psalms (free soup and prayer), I am always awed by the joy, community and faith that is fostered by the Center in such an authentic way. As someone who believes that the Church should be about true relationships, community, and social justice, I think that the CFJ is a beautiful reflection of what it means to be Catholic.
