Review for La Peña Cultural Center, Inc., Berkeley, CA, USA
La Peña Cultural Center is turning 37 this year (2012) and continues to provide excellent programming centered around arts and education. La Peña continues to be a place that caters to diverse communities, often ones that are not represented in the mainstream, and does so in a unique and exciting way. From musical performances, to workshops, to classes, to theater, La Peña is a major hub for the East Bay, and the Bay Area.

Review for Oakland Kids First, Oakland, CA, USA
I have been volunteering with Oakland Kids First for over a year and am proud of the work I am contributing to. At OKF the team strives to provide excellent resources and opportunities to young people who come from communities that are often overlooked. The students who benefit from OKF's programming develop strong leadership skills, interpersonal development, and a connection to their classmates and community. The transformation that OKF provides for the students is incredible.
