I have been working with Women's Global Empowerment Fund for about two years. I have nothing but the highest regard for this organization. The work they do in Uganda helping women rebuild their lives after years of conflict is having a huge impact. I was able to travel to Uganda and see the results of their education and microfinance programs. The women there are confident and hopeful. They are able to support not only themselves, but their families. They are able to send their children to school. One special part of the program that I was involved with is their annual drama festival, in which these women write and perform plays that raise important issues in the context of their community. What amazed me was that the plays not only contained important messages, they also were well written as plays, with great characters, stories and lots of humor. I can't say enough about WGEF and the work they do.
