Review for Operation Warm Inc., Philadelphia, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was involved with Operation Warm during the 2011-2012 academic school year as an Intern, specifically for the Delaware Challenge initiative. I am a student at the University of Delaware and was initially nervous to have an internship during the academic year. However, Operation Warm is an incredible organization and the program was fantastically easy to balance. I was responsible for initiating contact with local high schools to engage students to fund raise and get involved with OW. Through this experience I realized how dedicated the staff are to their goal of providing children living in poverty with a new winter coat. What seems like a small contribution to a child's life is now understood by me to be monumental. My intern manager was dedicated, hands-on, and available whenever me and my fellow interns needed guidance or support with our tasks. As interns we received a plethora of useful resources ranging from tool kits to provide for our engaged high school groups, to innovative presentations that clearly convey the organizations goals and structure. Operation Warm has a focused and clear goal as a non-profit combined with a passionate, well-qualified staff, and these two aspects continue to drive this outstanding non-profit organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Fundraising with schools and seeing directly where their support goes to the children's new winter coats.

Role:  Volunteer & I interned with the organizations, making contact and maintaining relationships with local high school groups in Delaware to support the Delaware Challenge. The Delaware Challenge is to provide every underprivileged Delawarean child with a new winter coat.
