Review for The YP Foundation, New Delhi, , India

Rating: 4 stars

The YP Foundation is a team of very young, bright and committed people promoting people's right to information amongst other things. I have worked with them in the planning of a public event on the right to information. They have systematic and professional approach to the subject they work on. They first equip themselves with the knowledge required to be able to work on the issue in an intelligent manner. Their ability to mobilise the youth in order to spread awareness about the right to information is commendable. They have also begun strategic use of the right to information in order to tackle issues of accountability in the University examination processes and in the functioning of the police. This organisation has a lot of potential and is poised to become one of the leading youth organisations working on governance issues amongst the several other areas that they have chosen.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the sharpness displayed by the staff and volunteers while being trained on issues related to the right to information ad their ability to transfer that knowledge to other youth. This is a crucial skill that many of their members possess.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very bright and eager to learn the law on the right to information. Their ability to think professionally without losing the human sensitivity that is necesary for the work areas theyh ave chosen is highly impressive.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

scale up its activities to reach out to youth in other urban and semi-rural areas which is the need of the hour.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I helped train YP Foundation staff and volunteers in the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005. We also designed public education pamphlets and public education event on the right to information.
