As the son of a detective in the sexual assault unit, I deeply appreciate the services that Casa Myrna provides to victims of domestic and dating violence. Although domestic violence can affect anyone in a relationship, regardless of gender, the reality is that the overwhelming majority of victims are women, and the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are men. Thus, we need to stop thinking about domestic and dating violence as “just” a woman’s issue, as though that lets all of us off the hook. Casa Myrna is a comprehensive solution resource that has empowered women for over 35 years. I am honored to serve on Casa Myrna's board of directors.
