Review for Orphans Heroes, Bedford Hills, NY, USA
I don't know if I can adequately express my gratitude for what Orphan's Heroes has done to help children around the globe live happier, healthier...better...lives. Most of us take the basic necessities of life for granted. We have fairly easy access to food, clothing and shelter. This is not the case for many abandoned and/or orphaned children around the world. If our kids are sick, we can take them to the doctors for observation and treatment - and have medicine prescribed, if necessary. For children in Third World countries, in particular, this is just not the case. They must fight for food (and are not guaranteed that they will be fed daily), don't have access to adequate clothing and IF they have shelter, it is often subpar, at best. These children also die from diseases/viruses/illnesses that are easily treated with medicine, but because they are unable to obtain the necessary medications, they suffer and die. In the years I have been part of OH, either via donating money or supporting them via awareness efforts, etc., I have seen amazing things take place that have enabled children to survive, to LIVE - and a lot happier and healthier, at that! I have heard stories of children being rescued from a life-time of slavery or being taken to safe houses, because of exposure to unseemly and dangerous circumstances. Children have been provided with clean water, have been clothed, fed, sheltered - and as a luxury, EDUCATED. I will continue to support OH, because as a Mom, I would HOPE that if my child were to ever be put in a situation where their life was endangered in any way, *someone* would step in and help them. Jen and OH has done this for countless children already - and I am so proud to be even the tiniest part of this amazing organization and her life-saving effort(s).

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
ensure that they have unlimited resources/funds :) I wouldn't change a thing in regards to the organizational structure!

What specific problem, purpose, priority, or project prompted your gift?
Hearing the heart-breaking stories of orphaned and/or abandoned children and realizing just how much they truly need our help. I also know Jen and the type of person she is and knew she would run a top-notch, honest, classy, sincere and well-organized organization.
Why did you make your donation at this time?
I've made more than one, and will continue to do so, because funds are always needed. Children in need are out there, in desperate need of our help. Every penny matters. Poverty, abuse, disease, hunger, etc. never sleep. They're always there and it takes money to help battle them.
What would you tell others about this organization?
I would - and do - tell others that OH is totally and completely sincere in its efforts to help orphaned and/or abandoned children around the world. Jen is dedicated in working to eradicate child slavery, and to providing nourishment, clothing, shelter, clean water, education - everything we take for granted - for and to children in need. OH is well-run, classy and everything that you would want in and from a non-profit organization. (And yes, I'm just a little biased, because I know the amazing work the organization has done thus far!!)
