I am so proud of everyone who does so much for all the animals that are fortunate enough to get to spend the rest of their lives at Black Pine. Except for a very small staff, the sanctuary operates 365 days per year with hours and hours of volunteer time. So many people are involved in helping our animals. The whole sanctuary is build piece by piece, using the natural environment as much as possible. We reuse as much as we can and try to keep the habitats as close to natural as we can. It is a beautiful little place tucked away in rural Indiana. I am proud to help this sanctuary as much as I can.
