Review for Friends Of Sholan Farms, Leominster, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

One October a few years ago one of my daughters wanted to go apple picking. We decided to visit Sholan Farm in Leominster and came home with a basket full of apples. Since that time my wife and I have volunteered. Sholan Farms is a 169-acre farm, rich in history, owned by the City of Leominster and operated by the Friends of Sholan Farms; the farm is located at 1125 Pleasant Street. The Friends of Sholan Farms is a community supported, non-profit organization managed by a group of dedicated members and volunteers. Our organization is managed independently from the City of Leominster and does not receive, or rely on City funding. Our funding comes from our product (apple, raspberry, blueberry, etc.) sales, festivals, tours, sponsors, and private donations. One of my favorite events and one thatmy wife and I volunteer for is the Apple Blossom Festival and there are many events throughout the year as well.

The Sholan Farms Apple Blossom Festival celebrates the advent of spring in the Central Massachusetts region as evidenced by the blooming of the apple trees. The Festival is a civic celebration organized and operated by the Friends of Sholan Farms.
Sholan Farms is grateful to our many local, regional and national business sponsors for helping to partially fund this event. The festival will be held this year on May 5 10 Am to 4 PM. The rain date is May 6. By September you can pick your own apples.
