Review for Cesar Chavez High School Band Boosters Inc, Stockton, CA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I am a parent booster. I have worked events where these students have competed. It is a strong program in its 5th year. The program supports a marching band, two jazz bands, concert band, and drumline. Half time productions are in the works. The budget cutbacks have affected this program. They strive that every student be able to participate, but funding limits that goal. The group does volunteer work at the local arena, the jazz band does gigs, boosters host crab feed and steak dinner. We have an escrip drive every year. Sponsorships are greatly appreciated

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

marching competitions. This booster group serves meals to the band, fixes the uniforms, make sure the students stay hydrated during hot performances, chaperone the band as necessary. Raises funds so the kids can perform in various competitions.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

keep it moving in a positive direction and to stay on task to me our objectives.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

To see it grow from it's first meeting and setting bylaws to today with helping student performers raise funds, feed band students at competitions, assist with uniforms and their maintenance, etc.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

This group of parents are awesome. They are compensating for the budget cut that have occurred. Their goal is to have every student be able to perform in the band. Instruments are replaced or repaired, the same for the uniform. Monies are obtained.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Support all schools in the district with music programs. Our current goal is to meet the needs of our band students. If we had more monies we would be able to expand to the whole district. Every student would be able to compete and go on the annual trip.

Ways to make it better...

every student could perform.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

To obtain the necessary monies to have every band student be able to participate. To be able to maintain instruments and uniforms and replace as needed.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Support us through escrip program, and through sponsorships. Donations are gladly accepted including water, copy paper, band gloves, instruments, food for competitions, etc. Thank You for your support in our program
